A profile page help you to do this by allowing you to display some personal details such as your name, a picture and a general introduction.

Your profile page should not be a sales pitch. You should not fill it with ads and give people the impression that you only want to sell to them. For example ‘ supposing I want people to join my Home Business opportunity, I will be targeting people who are interested in making money working from home. I send them a mail to introduce myself and point them towards my profile. No need to mention my business at this stage.

You may find most people are already promoting a business opportunity or some other money making program. It is worth connecting with them as many people are open to the opportunity of joining another business, either as a replacement business or as a second one.

Look for things on their profile you can chat about. Maybe they have hobbies similar to yours, maybe even come from the same country you live. Remember you are not aiming to sell at this stage. You are aiming to build friendships and business relationships. Do not start promoting your business in your introduction otherwise most people will just delete your mail and maybe even block you from contacting them again.

STEP 03 Posting Messages

This is where many people (myself included) have made one major mistake when it comes to posting messages on a social networking site. They have made all their messages promotional ones.

When people check their email they quickly scan through them looking for ones they want to read and delete the rest. The same applies when people are reading messages sent to them by their contacts. If they see a load of messages promoting some program from someone they dont really know then they are not likely to read your message.

For this reason you need to promote yourself and not your product. Get to know your contacts and they are most likely to read your mails. Here is an example of a welcome mail to send your contacts.

Hi NAME,

My name is (your name). I have just been looking at your profile and it seems we share the same interests in making money online. I would like you to read my profile and get to know a little about me. I also look forward to keeping in contact with you and hopefully sharing some interesting information with you.

(Your name)

Once you have shared a few mails then you can stand promoting your products or business. But do not use sales talk, use normal conversation. Remember that you are talking to your contact as a friend. Here is an example of a message promoting a product using normal conversation.

Hi NAME,

Hope you are well. I am fine, just been busy with the children and some tasks around the house.

I have been looking at this website which looks quite promising. It seems you can get your own domain for $10 a month which includes a site builder and a great compensation plan. I don’t know if you have heard of it but it is called GDI. I have just joined it today and I have included the URL for you just in case you want to check it out.

So what have you been up to lately?

(Your name)

Notice that this message is not using sales talk to create a presentation. It is simply one friend sharing something with another. By posting messages like this you are more likely to get your URL seen.

Notice the line that asks the contact what they have been up to? This encourages them to reply to your message because you have asked them a question 1000 . As part of their reply they will probably tell you that they have looked at the site you sent them or will at least promise to look later. Meaning there is a good chance they will sign up as they trust your recommendation as a friend.

Finally, make sure you send your contacts some useful and free information from time to time. This could be a link to a great article you have read or some free giveaway software. This helps to build your business relationship with them so they don’t think of you as someone who just wants their money.

I personally use a great site called Swom. It is free to join and hundreds of people are joining it daily. It is the easiest site to get started with that I have ever seen so even a complete newbie will have no problems.

Social Networking will help you build up a list of quality prospects who you can sell to again and again. Most of them are free to join so you don’t have to worry about your marketing budget.

Many of them allow you to start a group where you can have discussions on different subjects. So starting a group based around your product can help gain you a few sales. For example if you sold herbal products you could start a discussion about various products and start recommending the ones you sell.

Core Business Growth Strategies

How is your business doing? Growing, or plateauing?
If you are like most entrepreneurs, it’s likely not expanding as rapidly as you’d want it to.But wait a minute, you’ve got your blog online. You’ve got your advertisements created. Your auto-responder emails are all written. You’ve got your newsletter all figured out and it looks a heck of a lot better than your competitors. You’ve got Facebook and Twitter accounts created, and you are changing your status every day.

So why is your business not on the rise?Well, now that you have all these things set up… what are you doing?
Are you tweaking the colors on your website? Are you watching the leads trickle into your auto-responder? Are you re-formatting your newsletter?
In other words, are you DOING anything that will ACTUALLY GROW your business?
Tweaking website colors will not do it. Adding great content will.Occasionally changing your Twitter and Facebook status won’t do it. Finding great articles to share on Twitter and MySpace, and communicating with other users will do it.

Core  Business ProcessesStaring at the leads that have dripped into your auto-responder and endlessly perfecting the auto-responser emails for spelling and grammar won’t do it. Picking up the telephone and making a personal connection with those who have left you their phone number will do it.Researching and compiling a list of 3,000 keywords won’t do it. Including those keywords inside of really good content that you post to your website and syndicate through article marketing will do it.

Uploading one video that took your four days to create until it was perfect won’t do it. Broadcasting a new video with valuable content each week and broadcasting that video to multiple video sharing site, then telling all your Facebook and Twitter friends about it will do it.

In other words, examine what you are FOCUSING on a daily basis. Many entrpreneurs focus on actions that do NOT grow their business. For example, while it is important to get your website up, it is even more important to start uploading valuable content… even if the site isn’t complete yet. Relatively speaking, the layout of your site are far less important than the content!

Here is the basis of a 1000 good business growth strategy. These are actions you can take to make sure you move your business in the right direction daily:

1. For every part of your business, determine WHY you need it. What is it’s PURPOSE? For example, why do you need a website? Answer: to give people an opportunity to learn about you so that they will trust you and be more likely to spend money with you.

2. Decide which tasks get you to the WHY the FASTEST. These are your GROWTH ACTIVITIES. Do blog layout help encourage people to buy what you sell, or does great articles do a better job of that? Does just posting your Facebook status help people to respect you, or does broadcasting good content and interacting with possible customers do that?

3. Every evening, make a list of the 3-5 growth activities from step 2 that you will focus on. This list can also be made in the morning before you start your work day, but I personally like to have it done already, so that in the morning I can get going immediately. Focusing on these activities will guarantee that you are growing your business every day.

4. Optimize your growth actions. You will probably notice that there are some actions that you repeat daily or weekly. Examine these tasks and optimize them. Certainly, you can outsource some of them. Some you might be able to utilize technology to automate. The goal is to to minimize the amount of time you have to spend on that activity.

5. Now that you’ve made your growth activities more efficient, look for MORE actions that will DIRECTLY affect the growth of your business. Work those actions, streamline them, then repeat.

Here is one final tip: do NOT try to accomplish everything at once! Focus only on a couple tasks until you feel confident adding more. You do not want to get overwhelmed. That just leads to burn out, and that’s certainly not good for you or your business!

Finally, what is the FIRST growth activity you should start working on? Begin with STEP ONE, above. That IS your first business growth strategy!

One of the keys to success in your network marketing business is to ensure that your weekly and daily business activities and targets align with your business plan and your goals. It’s the alignment between these two elements that establishes your level of integrity in your business and puts you on the path to achieving what you intend. In this article you are going to walk through the basic steps to creating an effective weekly and daily activity plan that supports your business income goals.

You will want to establish your sales target based on your income goals. Now depending on the particular company and compensation plan you are working with this may or may not be a simple calculation, but what you want to do is identify the number of sales required to reach your income goal. So let’s suppose for simplicity sake that you have a target income goal of $48,000 for a year and that you make $1000 per sale. In this example you would require 48 sales or an average of 4 sales per month. If you assume 4 weeks in a month, that’s 1 sale per week.
  2. How many leads must you generate per sale? What is percentage of your leads do you expect to sell? Use this assumption to determine the number of leads you must generate per sale. For example, If you assume 1% of your leads will get started, then you require 100 leads per sale. So in this example, you require 100 leads per week to support your target of 1 sale.
  3. How many conversations must you have? You know that you won’t ever reach all of your leads. So what percentage of your leads do you expect to reach and have a conversation with? If you assume, say 50%, then you have a target of 50 conversations.
  4. How many people will you invite to a presentation? Of the conversations you have, what percentage of the people will qualify as a prospect for which you will invite to a presentation (or whatever means by which you allow your prospect to learn more about your opportunity)? If, on average, you assume one half will qualify then you will target to extend 25 presentation invitations.
  5. How many follow-ups will you do? This is easy because you will follow-up with every person you invite to a presentation. So in this example, that is 25 follow-up conversations.

 

Working from these assumptions, you now have the basics of a weekly activity plan against which you can measure yourself. Your activity goals for the week are to generate and call 100 leads, have 50 conversations, invite 25 people to your business presentation and follow up with each of them. This can be easily translated into a set of daily activity targets by dividing the activity goals by the number of days per week you intend to work your business. If you wish to work only 5 days per week, you divide your targets by 5.

So you now have a set of daily activity targets against which to manage yourself in your business: 20 leads, 10 conversations, 5 invitations and 5 follow-ups. To ensure you are in alignment with your goals, simply monitor your actual daily activity vs. the daily activity targets you have established. If you are on target, congratulations because you are in integrity with your goals and so long as you persist you will be on target. If your level of activity does not support your goals then self correct. Either increase your level of activity or adjust your income goal accordingly.
